"THE RIGHT TO OPACITY" and "STARTLING THE ECHOES" mark some major changes in my work - in them, I'm no longer focusing on single elements built into a group - these 2 works are like the interior of hives or swarms of fabric. This puts more emphasis on the fabric than on the frame supporting it. In both installations the fabric, a combination of opaque, transparent and translucent textiles, is suspended from a long, narrow plywood frame with 2 to 3 interior cross-pieces - they look like narrow trapeze bars. The frames are suspended from two very thin cables hooked to each end; each unit is attached to small s-hooks hanging off of a metal grid on the ceiling.
